Your a genius! Anyway there were so many things I tried, using CMD commands to get to stuff, repairing windows xp, doing sfc /scannow, doing chddsk /r and even other things .. I did some more research on Nvrd32.sys and apparently it works with Nvidia. Unable to open any programs including My computer /control panel etc , except command prompt .

One fix required me to replace iertutil, so I downloaded a new one and (after renaming the original to iertutilBACKUP.dll) I placed it in the system32 folder. I made a search for "... Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it is, check that the \system32\dllcache\ folder has a copy.
I can load task manager and have managed to attempt to uninstall ie from add remove programs. Many service packs and other patches replace or update some of the hundreds of Microsoft distributed DLL files on your computer. Feel free to ignore my comment, just another user !
