If you read my post in the thread mentioned in my earlier link, you'll see the "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\wdmaud.sys" file is intended to be there.. Browser sometimes post false errors suggestive of a server side source. Can't Get Google To Open I closed the laptop, took it home, and opened it up, and tried getting into GMail, and it worked. Cant Connect To Google Has anyone come across something like this before?

The hosts file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc) was apparently altered by some sort of virus or spyware.
